Nature really let its creative juices flow here, creating a concentration of mindboggling shapes resembling everything from a camel to Napoleon. Tack on to one of the tour groups to hear some of the more incredulous claims, or let your own imagination run free and see what shapes you see yourself.
Pasabag (Monks Valley) is just another unique part of Cappadocia - not to be missed. In this valley, you can see many different types of fairy chimneys: multi-bodied, multi-headed, elongated, asparagus shaped, phallic shaped, cone shaped, pedestal shaped and Japanese eryngii (エリンギ) mushroom shaped ones.
Perhaps the most accessible of all the valleys, due to its proximity to the central town of Goreme, Pigeon Valley is the best place to start exploring the region. The trail goes right through the valley, with great views of the many dovecotes that dot the cliff walls and fairy chimneys around. The best way to access the trail is from Uchisar, from where a short 3km trail will take you through the valley to Goreme.
